Giving Picks As A Player in Athens
In 2004-2005, during the time I was playing for Apollon Athens, I gave picks every week in
Elefteros Typos , Greece's highest-circulating sports-betting newspaper.
Under my picture it says something like 'Goran Trpevski, football player of Apollon Athens gives his thoughts.'
Plenty of readers must have been following my picks as what was supposed to be only a temporary arrangement turned into a weekly thing for more than a year (2004-05).
I saw myself more as a player and less of a tipster during this time. So I gave my picks for free to the readers of Elefteros Typos. I suppose I helped a lot of people make good money simply for the price of the newspaper then.

Aguere, the coach of Atletiko is gambling so far.
And only time will tell if he is right or wrong.
He is gambling with the lineup over and over again.
For example, Aguerro, the Argentinian striker is rested too often it seems.
But the coach had a beautiful comment on this.
"Judge me end of the season when we finish in the top 3 places in La Liga and get in the CL."
Beautiful comment and it's enough for me and should be for anyone else.
Atletiko so far have been very good at home.
Sure we can look at the home record and we see 3 wins and 2 losses.
How does Goran get this to a 'very good' record you say?
Well the two losses came to Real Madrid (in the 95th minute) and against a very good Sevilla team.
No shame in losing against those teams.
The other teams have been hammered at the Vincente Calderon to put it out nicely.
Deportivo with the players they have now and Atletiko with the players they have should end up in home win.
Does it help that Atletiko need the win more then Deportivo?
Yes it does.
Deportivo come from two straight wins so morale and form is good.
But this doesn't always mean good things.
And Atletiko's 1 win in the last 6 games don't necessary mean something bad.
Deportivo won't finish above Atletiko as the league table shows us now.
I believe these two teams change places after this game

Time has come for the Genoa outfits to take a three pointer and start moving up the table.
This is the same team that not too long ago, were fighting for CL places if you remember?
They have a good coach and they have some very solid players.
To spice it up they have one of the best ‘talents' in the world Antonio Cassano.
So there is no reason for Samp to have 10 points after 10 games.
But these things happen in football.
One team gets more than it deserves and another gets punished week after week unfairly.
Samp had a very good game away to Napoli in Naples last week and should have scored at least two times.
If they play the same in this game with the same intensity and passion then folks, this game is ending one way and one way only.
Lecce got a very lucky draw to Milan in their last game.
They will travel to Genoa to play 11 behind the ball and play for a draw.
I believe the southern Italians will have a tough day today.
They take on Sampdoria at a bad time.
Not because Samp is in great form, nor because they have some extra motivation.
The only reason is that Samp need points and they need them ...yesterday.
Lecce who is a typical home team should have difficulties today against a hungry for 3 points Sampdoria.
